Halo Construction Management
Effective Project Management
The development of large infrastructure has a large degree of complexity and has numerous problems and challenges to overcome at each stage of development. Delays and cost overruns are common, poor planning and execution, unbalanced contract terms and conditions, inadequate controls, and lack of proper risk management are rife. However, Halo has radically restructured its project delivery methods from upfront planning stages through to delivery. Digital planning covers every aspect of the process and a fully integrated plan is created to ensure the project management is based on real-time information.

Industrialization
Rapid economic development requires a healthy and sustainable construction industry to meet the demand for facilities and infrastructure. Africa has experienced decades of limited development in industrialization of construction. Halo's adoption of industrial scale manufacturing as a method to deliver high volumes of affordable housing as a way to accelerate growth. The use of BIM (Build Information Modelling) can help revolutionize Africa's construction industry in the near future that will unearth more benefits of modular and industrialized construction.
Supply Chain Management
Our 'Integrated Factory' model connects the various factories directly to our construction sites, ensuring a seamless transition from manufacturing, through delivery and installation. This approach extends the speed, precision, coordination, and quality assurance of our factory environments directly to HALO's construction sites. Continued investments in the most advanced manufacturing equipment, automation, technologies, and systems give us the capability and capacity to manufacture the major structural components and finish products to build 1 million plus houses per annum.

Digital Project Management
To manage projects of this scale requires a seamless flow of information and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. Halo will make use of a software system called Build Information Modelling (BIM), a design and construction management platform, combined with Manufact-On's prefab production and supply chain solution. This will provide true end-to-end management of the construction supply chain and support the business to become more like a manufacturer than a traditional developer model.
Project Legacy
Good management is not only about delivering the project on time and on budget, but a successful infrastructure project needs to operate as intended. In particular for large national projects, success should have broader benefits as well, such as skills development, job creation, strengthening the local supply chain, and expanding knowledge sharing and capability building for future generations.
